The movie is a series (2017-2019) and is available on NetFlix. There are 3 seasons, and all episodes have an average time of 45 minutes each. The 1st Season has seven episodes, the 2nd Season has 10, and the 3rd Season has 10. After the release of Season 3, CBC and Netflix cancelled the series, disappointing fans. So if you have a good weekend to spare, this is one you will enjoy…
Synopsis on NetFlix
A bungled message brings spirited orphan Shirley to Green Gables, where unmarried siblings Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert await a boy.

OVERALL SUMMARY - SPOILER
This is a clean, unforgettable and much-loved Canadian series set in the late 19th century and adapted from the best-selling book series Anne of Green Gables.
Every review or comment I have read on this series has been great, with requests for a 4th season. The 3 seasons will take you through the new life of Anne, who outshines every character with her personality, knowledge of poetry, out-of-this-world imagination, language perfection, and so much more. Anne (played by Amybeth McNulty - an Irish actress) oozes optimism most of the time, and this brings her character to life. This freckle-faced redhead seems to draw people to her like a magnet. What started as a blunder and the decision to return her to the orphanage later turned out to be a race to get her back. She was finally adopted into the Cuthbert family by the brother-sister duo. Anne evolved over time and through the series, which was great to watch.
TICKLED MY FANCY (HIGHLIGHTS)
I am quite certain that the book series, with its sequels and prequel, will be a great read. So, if you are a book lover, this may be a good option, considering the TV series has been cancelled.
I loved the use of language, poetic utterances, country setting, costumes, etc.
The subtle, unspoken language of love develops and gains momentum through the series. This culminates in a much-awaited final ending.
A WORD OF CAUTION (LOWLIGHTS)
The outcry for a continuance is a testament to how much the series is loved. It would have been nice to see more of the story unfolding. It is disappointing that the series got cancelled.
My overall rating is a 10 out of 10.
